At 5 moths of age your Bull Terrier should be done with the unacceptable nipping stage. If not, then she may be getting away with too much nipping while she's running around playing. I'm assuming she nips at your feet, hands, and whatever she can get her teeth on. Your puppy is old enough to realize when you shout "NO" she understands you aren't happy. There's a few other similar posts on this Forum dealing with the same subject where you'll get some good advice. If I have a puppy that decides he or she wants to nip I will immediately pin the puppy to the ground and hold him there while shouting "No." Once the puppy stops squirming and acting out I release him. Usually this works well and they quickly understand their actions are unacceptable.

  • Even as adults bull terriers like to kiss and add a little nibble in as well. They get so excited, nothing like a big kiss coming from a bull terrier mouth wide open!!!
  • I usually get smacke by a tooth from my male  when i go to kiss his face and he gets so excited he tosses his head back open mouthed and can leave bruises.

i personally wouldnt react harshly to this type of behavior, you could cause your bully to not even want to be near your face for kisses and avoidd close contact. to help with Cesar and Chimera what i would do is, to remain calm and not get excited before kissing them, i would get calm and quite and use my hand to cover the top of their muzzle to prevent them from flinging there heads back into my face while i kissed them-this really hash elped alot and with Chimera now, when i move in to kss her, she instantly calms down and keeps her head completly still untill i raise back up.

i  have even seen videos of the great Rufus doing similar behavior to people, along with nibbling on ears ;)

Bullies are big and strong and often times donot know there own strength

  • I hold their heads under the jaw line and kiss all over their cheeks this is usually followed by Brutus grunts and mouth open tounge lashings!!! Cleo is my gentle girl you could get away with just bending down to kiss her and she just butt wiggles!!! Nothing like those giant wide mouth kisses!!!!!
Your actions speak so loudly I cannot hear your words.
  • worse is the charging open mouth kisses, ouch. welts on my head.. it's usually a mistake. they are just ruff  clumsy dogs as far as I am concerned. no bad intentions on Oscars part.

I usually put my cheek next to his and give kisses to avoid collateral damage.
