Do Pocket Bully's require 4 inch chain leads?

I can't stand seeing these photos on social media sites. The poor genetics in these dogs have got to be the worst within any breed possible. Their joints are so badly formed they will be painfully suffering in just a few short years of their life which I'm confident is a short span to begin with. Take a look at how its wrists are already collapsing from carrying the weight of so much mass. It's apparent these Pocket Bully's are becoming more popular within the younger generation who desperately seek a "cool" and "tough" looking dog. However, there's nothing tough about a dog like this that couldn't run to the end of the driveway with huffing and puffing while in pain. It always amazes me too that the owners feel the need to find 4" chain leads that they feel are necessary in order to keep their immensely powerful "Pocket Bully" restrained because surely a smaller chain would be snapped like dental floss if he was to pull real hard. What a joke. I feel bad every time I see one of these Pocket Pits being tied up by a chain they can barely move around.

  • There always seems to be a background of cinder blocks, too, and overgrown weeds.

    I couldnt agree more.
  • That picture has been around for a while and it disgusts me very time I see it. What a horrible life to live, not only physically but environmentally. I'm hoping that these people will learn that their dog is generally useless because it can't move properly and they will either stop breeding or treating their dogs like that, OR they can just see themselves off the planet. Unfortunately, this is a very extreme case, but even the mild cases of these burly dogs are bad. We've got an American Bully living in our complex, and while his shoulders aren't nearly that bad and he's not a slingback, he's still very meaty and thick and he's got a huge head. He can run...but only for like 5 minutes. He has a constant gutteral breathing that sounds like he's dying probably due to a poorly constructed palate thanks to the Bulldog in him, and one day his inability to breathe is likely to cost him his life. Shame, because personality-wise he's fantastic.
People give us grief for the bull terrier's nose, but at least my dog can breathe...
  • He probably got all those muscles from lugging that big a$$ chain around his neck!! What do people think??
