Excited and Anticipating a New Addition to our Family
On the way home from Louisiana yesterday, while stopped at a red light, I checked my email and there it was. Confirmation from Steve @ Bullies of NC that we are going to become proud owners of a beautiful little bullie girl in a few short weeks. She's one a litter from Rainbow Kennels and the whole family is all over themselves with happiness! Tough part now is choosing a name!
As we move forward we'll be in need of a vet that will provide the quality care that we will demand be given to her. With that being said, are there any specific questions we should ask of a prospective vet? What should we look for in his/her qualifications that will assist us in making an informed decision to be confident that her needs will be professionally addressed?
I know this is early in the game, but I believe in having a plan and that plan being based on the best information available. Choices that we must make need to be made on advice from experts in the field, as well as our personal opinions gained from asking the right questions.

Leslie will has all her puppies health tested and vaccinated by her Vet at 6 weeks of age. You will be provided a copy of the Vet records for your puppy.
Once you receive your puppy I would call your local Vet and make an appointment to have her checked into their system and they will let you know when the appropriate time is to have her second set of shots conducted. Usually it's when the puppies are about 10 weeks of age. However, every Vet has their own opinion.
Your puppy will be coming with an AKC Puppy package which contains a lot of information that will answer many questions you may have. However, Leslie will be going over all this with you in detail so you have no worries or concerns. She's very thorough and has a lot of pride in her Bullies.
Your little Bullies is a real cutie!

You want a vet whom your comfortible with, who is easy to talk to and doesnts make you feel rushed all the time. you also dont want a vet who pushes products on you that they sell.
some vets will try thereh arest to get you to feed the brand of food they sell, and the collars they sell and the bitter sprays they sell. if the vet is like that its best to simply pass as they will annoy the crap out of you trying to get you buy there stuff all the time.
