Will my puppy hurt my Maltese?
Caesar is now 14 weeks old and has been with us since 7 weeks old.
I also have a 9 year old male maltese who is very placid. My puppy has certainly dominated my Maltese in the short time they have been together and they play beautifully together off the most part, with the exception that Caesar bites the malteses ear a little to hard and Zeke yelps.
I am concerned as the bullie grows and reaches sexual maturity that he is going to hurt Zeke, probably unintentionally. What are the chances of them living harmoniously together?

I too have a little tyrant prowling the house looking to engage in a wrestling match with any dog that crosses her path. Her name is Nitress and she too is a normal behaved Bullie with a lot of spunk. My wife's French Bull Dog (Ruger) beats her up every time she pounces on him. Those two run all over the place biting at each others arms, trying to tow each other around by their collars, and raising as much havoc as feasibly possible. I've get I've seen it before many times as we've raised other BT puppies that I'm unbothered by it. It feels like only yesterday Rocky was the terror of the house. Now he's the push over and condones all kinds of craziness from other dogs and puppies.
Caesar will not remain the Tasmanian Devil you see today. It's just a puppy phase. If you want to judge his true character, temperament, and personality you have about a 24 month wait in order to get any accuracy and much of the results will depend on his training and attention he's receiving now.

Nitress is a beauty! Stoeger plays so damn rough with dogs that I'm scared to let him play. I don't want the other owners to think he is attacking but idk wht to do about it.

Anyways, for Spud it was socializing him from three months out. Luckily we have a supervised social near me every Saturday at Spud's daycare for puppies once a week. Once he got his third set of vaccinations I started the dog park. They will calm down. Spud has calmed down since and likes to just put his nose in other dogs faces now at ten months instead of the usual nipping like before.
@Stoeger- they play rough, there will always be overprotective dog owners but there will be some who allow them to just be dogs and play. Find those people cuz they understand how it is to have a high energy dog breed and are understanding.
Stoeger does have a playmate, Tyler the Rat Terrier. Just the other day that we need to get them together for another play date. She absolutely wears him out. He's twice her size now though... The tables may have turned!
