Garlic safe or not with bullies

Strange question having a convo with my next door neighbour about flea prevention mentioned giving her dog garlic to prevent when I looked iinto it can't get a good definative answer is it toxic or good alternative?? Many thanks

I've wondered about this too. Garlic shows up on many of the toxic foods lists, but I also see a lot of people who add it to their dogs food. I see it listed on bags of kibble too. I wouldn't give it to mine.

I wouldn't do it. I read it was toxic and did more research when Stoeger found, ate, an. Got sick on green onions. I saw that if they did happen to ingest toxic food it's better in one large dose as opposed to small amounts over time. Small amounts over time tend to do more damage that you may not notice.

I would skip out on the garlic, it's from the onion family and onions are not good for them. A great way to prevent fleas, instead of garlic, put a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in their kibble. Gives them a nice coat as well!
