fancy fawn bull terriers

How come you dont see to many fancy fawn bull terriers like thor? Are they a more of a rare colored bull terriers or they just not that popular in the breed? Cus in my opinion I think its a beautiful color in the breed and would love to see more of them

I have personally seen a few, but not sure if it's a rare color. It is a nice coat, but the color I have yet to see in person would be a red smut, now that's a great coloring!

Ok yea see I still have yet to see any but very few like thor and his dad and maybe a couple on the Internet but from what iv been told is that thors markeings and the way his coat and patterns is perfect that he is kinda hard to come by but thats just what iv been told lol in my eyes he is rare anyways because he was chose by me so that makes him special to me but yes I have seen a red smut but once in the store and the person who owned him didnt even know that was a very rare color on the bull terriers... I was going crazy because I knew it was a rare color and just for the fact I was lucky enough to see one but I was going crazy that he didn't know smh lol

I think the fawn color is pleasant to the eye. Unfortunately it is the least favored color in aspects of proper standards. While fawn is a a color standard it is also mentioned as "less favored" which may be the reason why you're not seeing as many of this color since it's not a favorable color to influence within a breeding program.
While Brindle was always the most favored within the Bull Terrier color group this opinion is quickly losing it's stigma due to many top contenders at shows being Red and White, Tri-colored, Black Brindles, etc. Let's face it Sundance Kid made a statement for the Red and Whites in 2007 and beat out the brindles.
I see nothing wrong at all with the Fawn color and they're slowly becoming more popular. However, the Reds are still sought after far more than the fawns. Regardless though, it comes down to personal preference preference because if the color is in fact within the standards there's nothing anybody can say about it being a fault. I think in due time you'll see more and more fawns as their popularity grows.

Thor is a Red and White not a fawn and I don't see any smut on Thor unless I'm missing it. Illustrated below is our female Kaos which is a Red Smut Solid. This would be a lot less seen than a Red and White.

See ya I totally agree steve but its just weird you dont see them that much and yes boyda there he is he is great but all those pics are great I just love the color and it caught mh eye when I saw Thor and I freaked and just fell in love.... but steve for some reason he looks alot darker in pics but on his paperwork he was labeled as a fancy fawn coat... so your saying he is red white? And he has no smut im sure of that I wish but no smut and she is beautiful steve I just love the solid red smuts

But if im correct he has black straight lines around the patches on his eye and I think on the side of his snout he has black so if im wrong correct me but I think that is smut a tad right?

Thor does indeed have smut markings.

 

Fawn is actually a dilute of Red-meaning it would be much more difficult to bred for due to it being genetically the same as Red.

He's got a tad of smut but not enough to be labeled smut within his color code. He's a Red and White despite what his paperwork depicts. The breeder may not have that much familiarity with the breed and labeled him a fawn and white. The fawn color is real light, almost a cream color. The light orange/red that I see on Thor is the normal "Red."

Photo's are deceiving with lighting so it is difficult at times to tell the difference between a Red and a Fawn.

Before I had wanted a white female. Now I keep seeing all these fawn and white and prefer that better. Kolohe and Karamel are so frickin cute!!!!

Ok then yea I see what your saying so is there anyway I can change all that to red and white or is there even a need to because I want it to be correct on his papers.... but all of these beautiful bull terriers yall are showing are beautiful and hope one day Thor looks exactly like them but thanks for the schooling

I don't think it matters unless you plan on breeding, as it would help I.D. what colors are in the lineage, but I could be wrong.

@Soapskid - In that photo he does look fawn. Again, it's very hard to tell from a photo. However, if you ever see a Red or Red and White in person you'll know for sure. Until then it's a guessing game with photos.
Boyda is correct. There really isn't too much harm with registration color. I've seen them registered incorrectly many times especially with people who have a white bull terrier with some form of color on their face or head and their registration showing them as White (199). The only Bull Terrier falling into that color code would be a totally solid white EBT without a trace of color on the face or head.

Ok see I might breed him the future if I am ever ready to because id love to ge pick of the litter for another bull terrier but no that I look at him yall are right he is red so ill see what I can do to change it I just dont know how to go about that tho?

Yea, up close in person it looks more red. Color really didn't matter to me but I do love red smuts.

This is Reba. On top of her colour looking different in pictures, she also seems to change in real life , especially when shedding a lot.

Kim, it sure does. However, there's no such thing as a Black, Red, and White even if the color in a Tri actually is Red. So I guess they just decided to call all Tri's "Black Tan and White." I guess by calling the reddish / fawn color in a Tri "Tan" it covers both.
