  • it depends on the individual dog, some need more, some less. The dog should tell you when they are tired, and give each one their own personal exercise time.
  • Here's why I bring this up.... my female needs little exercise and my male is NEVER tired. It varies day to day what they get and for him I usually give him jolly ball in the morning for about 1-2 hours as he plays with this by himself while I get stuff done. Then in the pm I usually get out the flirt stick or walk or tree rope for another 1/2 hour. He is extremly high energy still at just over a year is this enough for him?? My female you can't even get off the couch the majority of the time.... my husband don't think this is enough for him? He also hates the jolly ball because it rips his nose up and makes his gums bleed:( however he LOVES it and totally tweeks when he sees it much like his flirt stick and he gives kinda a squeal...

Will your Bullie chase a ball if you throw one? Many will and this is really good exercise for them. Our Bullies play so much with each other outside all through the day and exhaust a lot of energy.

Danielle is correct, each dog is different. A young male Bullie has more energy than you could exhaust if you were to spend the day trying to wear him out. An older Bullie may only require a little time each day.

I'm sure just by having your two Bullies play with each other outside they're burning out stored energy and having fun while they're doing it.

  • perhaps you can get a treadmill and have him run on that, if your girl doesnt want exercise just have her do a little bit each day, its always good to get the heart up and running. yea mine like to chase the ball too.
  • They do play but his evil side though curbed a bit now has made her skittish of him. They play more if I'm outside with them however if their playing tug with the rope he just wants tobring it to me and intern I give it back to her:/ they do once in a while tear around alone but not often:( I do need a treadmill!!! I have been on the search. She will chase a ball but he would prefer I go get it;/ if their both out their she can engage him to become interested but him alone no not happening:(

  • you should just do what each dog enjoys individually instead of trying to get them to do things together. That way you can just focus on lowering the energy on them, if your female doesnt have high energy, take her for a brisk walk and than focus on brutus since he really needs it more.
  • I think many people donot realize just how much excercise a dog needs on a daily basis, most people think a 15-30 min stroll around the block is more then enough for any sized/breed of dog.

my 2 year old male Cesar NEEDS baare minimum 2-4 hours PER DAY and i deff consider him pretty laid back i put him on the treadmill for 2 hours and then we go for a 2-3 hour walk on and off lead so he can run, ive now added a back pack filled with smooth rocks to our walks to help wear him out.
in the summer we also go swimming, biking, and ill give him a big ball to roll around the yard sometimes for several hours.

Chimera who is 6 months is begining to show her true colors and has got LOADS more energy then he does so im working on getting her used to walking on the treadmill daily as well. treadmills are a God send somedays!
