Hey Steve,
New to the forum. I have one of the liver Bullies sired by Maximus about 1 year ago. His name is Max (Jr.)
Max just turned 1 year about a week ago and is weighing in at 65 lbs.
Just out of intererest, how weight much did Rocky put on between 12 and 16 months?
Rocky was 76 pounds when he had to have surgery for swallowing something he shouldn't have when he was about 12 months old. He's probably gained about 8 pounds since then.
If your dog Max is at 65 pounds at 12 months old that's about right for his age. I would imagine Max will still gain anything from 4 to 8 pounds from here on out. However, each dog is different.
Many people would agree that 65 pounds is a pretty good weight for a adult male Bull Terrier. Our stud Maximus weighs about 68 pounds and looks trim and fit with a lot of muscular tone. If your dog is the son of Maximus and he's already at 65 he's doing very well in regard to weight.
If I remember correctly though, your puppy should be older than 12 months old by now. He may be at his peak weight.
The Dame of your litter wasn't very tall but she was thick. We had her here for a week when we provided stud service to her. I was just talking about that litter the other day because of how rare it is that you seeTri-colored liver puppies. I never got to see any of the puppies in person but did get a few pictures. How's your dog Max doing now?

Hey Steve,
According to our records Max was born 17 September 2011. Stella was the dame and Maximus the sire.
Max was one of three male puppies (2 females in the litter) , not the largest (one of his brothers was real chunky dude) but he seemed to be the "lover" of the litter.
Max is doing very well and is a spoilt little fella. We live in horse farm country on 10 acres so Max has about 2 acres of fenced in pasture that is his domain. In addition he is free to roam more of the property where we have an invisible fence installed.
He is an in/outdoor well socialized dog that has been going with us most everywhere from day 1. Pubs, restaurants, you name it. (he does not like our sailboat much ..)
One unfortunate thing is that his ears never stood up. We tried taping them, but then Max had to have surgery to his head. He had a lump the size of a golf ball on his head, were he'd either bumped it or gotten bitten by something. This was quite traumatic since he had to wear a small plastic tube attached his head to drain the wound. The the wound got infected. Under these circumstance we thought it would be cruel to tape his ears. All is good now, no visible scarring and Max does not seem to mind that his ears are not erect. ;-) To us he is the same lovable fella, erect ears or not.
