A full grown average EBT should be between 18-24". However, there is no height specifics for this breed. AKC breed standards dictate "most stand 21-22 inches tall at the shoulder and weigh 50-70 pounds." A bull terrier smaller than 18" would most likely weigh in the 40's which would be considered small for a standard EBT.

A Minature EBT can be up to 14" tall and get to 40 pounds. Putting a nice stocky Minature EBT next to a smaller than average Standard EBT and many would be confused which is which.

Most Standard EBT breeders strive to ensure they reach at least the 20" mark for height within their bloodline. An average 20" male Bull Terrier would weigh around 50 pounds. However, now a days I notice most people prefer males to be in the 60 pound range which require more height than 20".

The attached photos shows the measurements on a little lap dog - 10" at the withers. Probably a 20 pound dog. The photo gives you a good idea where to measure a dog to get the proper height. If you put your dog against a wall and mark the wall right at the dogs withers and then measure the distance from the mark to the floor you'll get accuracy.

  • Im going to resize her, I do not think she woul reach 20", it will be nice but I dont think so... At what age they stop growing?

They usually at their full height at 12 months old. However, they continue to fill out and pick up weight after 12 months. If she's at 14" at 3 1/2 months old she's not small at all. More importantly than their height is their structure and conformation. I've seen many well built bullies that weren't 20" but had the mass that many desire. I'd much rather have a well built and muscular bullie with a nice wide chest, big egg shaped head with a short thick muzzle, and measured 18" verse a tall, lanky, skinny bullie with no mass or had a small head with a long, straight, and skinny muzzle. Years ago bullies were skinny and lanky but times have changed and so have the look of the Bull Terrier.

Old School Bullie, nice back in the day but would be considered poor in today's standards:

  • What a change!!! I like the way they look now. I resize Maya and she realy is 14" and 23 pounds.

Well 14" is good for how young she is. She's got a lot more growing to do. She sounds a little on the light side for 14" though but she hasn't developed yet and will be putting on a lot more muscle weight soon enough.

  • She was eating a lot but 2 weeks ago I change her food to"Blue... " the one with the Buffalo in the pakage... And she was eating less than usual, but now she is back eating just like before, I hope now she began to gain weight again.
  • Bowzer is 18 inches tall and 55-60 pounds. Ellie is 18 inches tall and 50 pounds, claxxton is probably about 18 inches now, not getting any taller but 50 pounds. Scarlett is 17 inches and 43 pounds.
  • Good thing for the bull terrier there is no height or weight limit.

Nope, no Height or Weight regulations and I've seen many that weren't even 16". I care more about the overall structure and conformation of them than I do their height anyways. I like them a bit stocky with a lot of muscular tone. A big head and chest is important in my eyes.

I seen this recent photo on my Facebook page. I thought the quality of the photo along with the bullie looked stunning:

  • wow what a stunning bullie, that camera takes amazing shots!! wooow i need one. important to me are feet, tight feet, ears (i hate floppy ears) small eyes the better and dark, i dont like tall bullies with skinny frame, so shorter and wider with a wide head with a nice curve or just not a snipey face.
