Cleo has done this since she's been a puppy! Anyone else's dog do this? I often wonder why??

Casper jumps up on the couch, paws at it, circles, paws at it, circles, etc. eventually she lays down lol

Cleo has some natural motherly extincts. She's trying to build herself a perfect dog den. Every dog that's about to give birth will also "nest" and prepare for the puppies. Even if there's nothing there to dig, modify, or alter they will go through the motions as if they're being productive.

Well bad, we have strange dogs!!!! Ha!! Steve, she also bites on it while she's kneeding it and also we call it her " love bear " as she does bad things with it as well!!!! And since I now got your attention lol!!! Every dog she meets tries to hump her!! At the bully Olympics darn near every dog tried!!! Does she have a sign on her back that says " hump me every doggies doing it " ugggg!!!!

Sounds to me like she is going thru the "motions" of nursing!

a lot of adult dogs and cats will dothis for comfort, BOTH of Chimeras litter mates do it-they posted videos on FB just a few weeks ago! and I have a friend who has not only an English mastiff, but also a cat who does this same thing, they will need while chewing/licking and sucking on blankets or dirty clothes.

My first Bully from twenty years ago did the kneeding and twirl before bedding down, so I was not surprised when our new pup Stoeger did the same.
